Dual Diploma of Business and Diploma of Leadership and Management
How you will learn
RMIT offers a variety of learning and teaching approaches, including face-to-face and online sessions, simulations, tutorials, and online discussions, as well as self-directed study.
This qualification will be delivered face-to-face at the NEC Hangar, home of the Essendon Football Club. From time to time, content may also be delivered on site at RMIT.
The curriculum will include a mix of learning methods including instructions, presentations, role-play, group work, and worksheets.
Importantly, students will undertake 100 hours of voluntary work experience across the Essendon Football Club gaining access to a variety of experiences within the operations of an AFL club across both men’s and women’s programs.
Key content will be delivered through a sporting context and will be supported by industry experts as well as Essendon Football Club staff who will provide an intimate perspective on working in elite sport.
Ongoing assessment typically includes written assessments, presentations, evidence portfolios, and practical demonstrations.

What you will experience
This unique qualification provides a dynamic student experience. Not only will your classrooms be inside a state-of-the-art sporting facility, your learning journey will be entrenched in everything sport. The dual diploma of Business and Leadership and Management is aimed to provide you with the skills and knowledge required to operate or manage a business, the added sport lens will prepare you to work within the sporting arena.
You will make new friends, experience club life and be exposed to opportunities not readily available at a learning institution.

Learning at the training facility and headquarters of the Bombers means that on any day there will be the opportunity to meet one of the club’s iconic players and coaches both past and present.
Career opportunities
You will be exposed to multiple areas of the business (e.g. football, events, member growth and engagement, community programs and facility operations) and in doing so gain a better understanding of what it is that you are passionate about.
Contact hours and duration
You will be required to attend approximately 14 hours of face-to-face classes per week, across three days a week at the NEC Hangar.
