Why did you join the EEA?

With 25 years in architecture. I sought a career change aligning with my passion. Despite some early hesitance and discomfort of not being in a learning environment for so long, the mixture of coursework and work placements at the club helped keep me focused and challenged.

Most memorable experience from the EEA?

Assisting the football department during the Carlton vs Essendon Kings Birthday Even game created an unforgettable experience. It was a great atmosphere with fantastic people who love the football club. Involvement in VFLW and AFLW training and match day functions was also rewarding. I am privileged to have the opportunity to know players names and faces as well as observing different coaching styles and communication techniques in a sporting environment. The women’s programs were two parts of the footy club I was totally oblivious about prior to EEA. Participation in midweek skills sessions with Dustin Fletcher, Maddy Prespakis and Georgia Gee contributed to keeping me physically healthy.

Future Career goals?

With additional course training and placement experience, coupled with my existing work background, my aim is to secure a role in facilities support within the sports industry, while remaining open to the possibility of exploring other career paths within sports clubs as I expand my industry knowledge and skills.

Something not many people would know about you?

I was a member of a team that participated in an indoor volleyball competition held on a squash court.
