Why did you join the EEA?

Working within sport has always been a passion of mine, so the opportunity to gain exposure the inner workings of Essendon Football Club, in conjunction with RMIT was too good an opportunity to pass up. Together with the practical experiences offered through placements and the people I’ve gotten to know, this course has been invaluable.

Most memorable experience from the EEA?

My game day placement has definitely been my favourite experience so far. Against the Adelaide Crows, I helped the team set up Marvel, ensured the rooms were ready, and attempted to kick footies back to players during warm up. Feeling the atmosphere of a sold-out Marvel on the ground was an unreal opportunity and one that I won’t forget. As well, getting to know staff and their journey has been one of the most beneficial aspects of this course.

Future Career goals?

To work within the sports industry in some capacity is my goal. The EEA has always encouraged the continuous upskilling of capabilities through embracing new experiences, responsibilities, insights and connections. It has also exposed me to the fast-paced nature of a Football Club, with the need for grit and adaptability essential. Two departments that I have thoroughly enjoyed have been commercial and content creation.
