Across the AFL season I was given the opportunity to partake in a variety of placements, including events such as The Essendonians Function & Presidents Club, where I met a variety of amazing staff and volunteers within EFC. Studying at the EEA was the best decision I’ve made.

I loved every moment of making connections with new people and learning from the placement experiences. My favourite placement was with the Long Lunch, where we greeted guests, helped set up, and engaged with attendees through selling raffle tickets. Thank you to EEA for the wonderful life experiences and knowledge I have gained throughout my course.

I enjoyed working at the junior kids' clinics, participating in meaningful community engagement events like the Long Lunch and Long Walk, and assisting with AFLW property and ticketing. The EEA experience was incredibly valuable. The skills and insights I've gained will play a key role in shaping my future, and I’m truly thankful for the opportunities I’ve had.

My favourite experience was when I was a leader in the Skeeta Skills clinic. What makes this day so memorable was having an elderly couple come up to me at the end, thanking me for going above and beyond with their granddaughter who wanted nothing to do with the clinic at the start.

I was able to do 100+ hours of placement through many different departments across the Club, learning more and loving every second of it. From walking the mascots around the MCG in Round 1 of the AFL Mens season to assisting with the Wheelchair Football Team, every aspect was incredible. This is the best decision I have made - starting my career journey again.

In 2023, I had no idea what I wanted to pursue as a career, all I knew was I wanted to work within the Elite Sporting Industry but opportunity was extremely limited in Brisbane. I am so thankful that I moved to Melbourne for a year and can't thank the Essendon Education Academy enough for providing me behind the scenes access to see what makes an AFL club run. This has only facilitated my desire to work in sport further through incredible placements and people.
